Dark Matter Donut – Original ACEO Miniature Oil Painting
Not all darkness is something to fear.
Dark matter is the stuff scientists can’t see, can’t measure directly, can’t fully explain — and yet it makes up most of the universe. It holds galaxies together. It is everywhere, in everything, doing essential work in the dark where no one is watching.
Jung called it the Shadow — the parts of ourselves we hide, suppress, deny. The anger, the grief, the hunger, the need. The things we were told were too much, too dark, too complicated. We spend so much energy keeping them out of the light.
But what if the dark parts aren’t the problem?
What if they’re the gravity that holds everything together?
This donut is painted in deep, swirling dark chocolate — impasto oils building layer upon layer of rich, complex darkness, rhinestones scattered across the surface like stars caught in a gravitational field. The gold ground glows at the edges, warm and ancient. The hole at the center pulls you in, inevitable and still.
She is not trying to be lighter than she is.
She is exactly as dark as she needs to be.
For the ones learning to stop apologizing for their depth. 🔭🧠🍫
