Some problems require more than a solution — they require vision. When radiant heat ceilings made it impossible to wire a chandelier overhead, the answer wasn't to give up on the dream of a beautiful dining room light. The answer was to reinvent the chandelier entirely.
The Problem
The home's radiant heat ceiling system made traditional overhead wiring impossible. There was no dining room light fixture — and no conventional way to add one.
The Solution
The chandelier was rewired with exterior cord wiring, fitted with an inline switch, and made controllable via a smart home app. Then, a custom floor base was designed and built from scratch to anchor the chandelier at floor level — concealing all wiring within its structure while serving as a stunning piece of furniture in its own right.
The Finish
The base was hand-tiled with a bold Moroccan-inspired black and white pattern — each tile placed and sealed by hand — transforming a functional necessity into a work of art. The result is a chandelier that illuminates the dining space beautifully, with zero visible wiring and full smart control.
